People Rally to Protect Neighbor from Gun Confiscation

This wasn’t merely a “protest” against gun confiscation, but a preventative action—a rescue.

Last Memorial Day Bob Allen wrote about what needs to happen for us to avoid a fascist future:

Those who take orders from government authority must be unshakably committed that there is a higher authority than the one passing down orders. In America, those higher authorities—even above the President—are the Constitution, and God Himself.

Until soldiers, and Marines, and police officers, and deputies, and special agents come to grips with these truths, we are all in danger. It would appear from recent events in America that we are, indeed, all in danger.

To my friends who carry weapons in service of the Federal or local governments: I salute you, as you serve the people and defend the Constitution. But... please... please... I pray to God: You must ponder the kind of orders you will never obey—no matter what it costs you.

If you do not, it will happen again, and it will happen right here.

It seems some people in Northern Idaho have adopted the correct stance. The Associated Press reports, “Gun-Confiscation Fears Lead to Protest in Northern Idaho.” What the story describes, however, is more than a protest. The people intervened on behalf of their neighbor.

A group of residents in northern Idaho lined up outside a U.S. Navy veteran's house on Thursday to protest claims that federal officials are planning on confiscating the man's weapons.

Idaho Republican state Rep. Heather Scott of Blanchard said the Veteran Affairs office has sent a letter to John Arnold of Priest River warning him that he cannot possess or purchase firearms.

The protest -spearheaded by Scott- attracted roughly 100 people. Among them were Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler, who promised to stand guard against any federal attempts to remove Arnold's guns, and Republican Washington state Rep. Matthew Shea of Spokane Valley, who described the event as a "defiance against tyranny."

"I took an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution and uphold the laws of Idaho," Wheeler said. "This seemed appropriate to show my support. I was going to make sure Mr. Arnold's rights weren't going to be breached."

This needs to start happening every single day in this country. It is a model for how we need to back up one another against the invading control freaks.
